About Rich
Rich has been a true student of music all his life!
He's
played with many great musicians ... perhaps most notably having toured with Bruce Springsteen, having played on some of his
recordings, and performing with the Boss during the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2009. That rocks!!
Rich received
his 'LaBamba' moniker during his tenure with Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes and Bruce Springsteen. Most of all, Rich is known for his appearances for 18 years on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Tonight Show with Conan
O'Brien as one of the Max Weinberg 7. Rich has been featured in a great number of Conan sketches. Rich sings the
falsetto 'In The Year 2000/3000,' and has been the foil of innumerable Conan jokes, appeared in many pre-recorded sketches,
and was paraded through the streets outside of Universal Studios Hollywood in a plexiglas 'pope-mobile' when the Tonight Show
debacle developed.

It has been with
his own band, LaBamba and the Hubcaps, that Rich has been able to display his talents in the concert field and private sector.
When he brings together the Hubcaps or his Big Band with all 18 Pieces of Soul, big band standards and contemporary classics
take on a new, wondrous life. Richie is also always at the ready for benefits, and was called on by Jon Bon Jovi for the
Special Olympics' "Very Special Christmas" television special. This semi-annual event hosted by President and
Mrs. Clinton at the White House was broadcast nationally for millions to enjoy. It
may be a well kept secret that Rich is an excellent and soulful singer. His vocals are featured in his live performances, and also
on various recordings. Click on the Hubcaps banner (above) to visit

My History With Rich
|
|

Rich & I went to George
Washington High School in NE Philadelphia. We were a year apart, but knew each other from choir. We both played
in various local bands, but were never in a band together. We did jam a few times at parties and in friends' basements,
and we had many friends and bandmates in common. After high school, I wandered off to Boston University and Rich
to Philadelphia Music Academy. Soon enough, we both switched course to chase music careers. As a fan of late-night
TV, I was thrilled to see Rich as a regular band member on the Conan O'Brien Show! I watched him develop into a celebrity
over the years, and heard tales of his fun and games from mutual friends like Steve Eisenberg, Jackie Meyer, and Paul Schwartz. In 2009, Conan made the move to hosting The Tonight Show ... and Rich headed for Los Angeles too. He got to
town a few months ahead of the rest of his family, so we had the opportunity to hang quite a bit. We traded war stories,
and got together with a few other Philly musician pals. Rich comp-ed me in to a couple of Conan shows in the first week
or two ... very exciting! I've also had the pleasure of meeting Rich's son Evan (who will soon own Hollywood!). Recently, Rich asked me to work with him in scoring an indie film. He composed some fantastic music, while
I piloted the Pro Tools space ship and engineered a tracking session with cats from the Conan band. All quite a blast! As I write this, Rich is preparing for the upcoming debut of Conan on TBS. I suspect he will continue being a valued and featured player
in the band and on the show!
