This song was inspired by a young woman I met recently ... She's just about to graduate
from college, and is engaged to be married to her high school sweetheart. She's looking forward to a fairy tale life ...
you know ... the kids, the house, the white picket fence.
I began writing this song to tell
about the fairy tale dreams of my own that had crashed and burned. But no! I still have dreams! And they
do come true! So I changed the song to be about the beauty of believing.
I submitted
this song to American Idol for their 2008 Song Contest. Not to appear disgruntled ... but ... I've heard the 20
they selected. Maybe 3 are decent and worthy. My guess is they make a few hundred thousand dollars in entry fees
and listen to maybe a few hundred. Or perhaps even select songs they solicit via insider connections. So ... I
say their contest is truly a fairy tale : )
