Special note regarding MPSE Golden Reel Awards: Oddly,
the MPSE engraves on the actual award the year the show was broadcast or released, yet lists the show on their website according
to the year the award was given ... one year later. For example, my Bionicle: Mask of Light award has 2003 engraved on its
plaque, yet it is listed on their website as 2004. Sheesh!

Other Award Nominations/Wins
for projects in which I participated. (In some cases I'm entitled to receive
awards for these, but chose not to spend $300+ for a statue when the award was really for the overall project rather than
my individual contribution. In a few cases, I probably should have been included as a nominee but was inadvertantly
omitted ... probably because I was hired as a freelance editor or mixer. And ... for some of these ... I simply was
a part of the big machine which ultimately led to an award for the project. In all cases, I'm proud to have been
part of the team! ) [PS: There are many projects to list here ... I'll be adding them
as I can.]

MPSE Golden Reel Nomination: Best Sound
Editing in Computer Entertainment (Dialogue Editor) I edited much of
the dialogue for the game-play section of this videogame ... the sound supervisor insists that the nomination was solely for
the cinematics (videos which play like movies and have no interactive game-play). Whatever. I'm as proud of
my dialogue editing as I am of my shmooziest sound design ... and happy to have been on the team for this nominee.

MPSE Golden Reel Nomination: Best Sound Editing - Television Movies and Specials - Effects & Foley (ADR Supervisor) This was one of those freelance situations ... I was often supervising ADR for Echo sound over about an 8 month period
in 2000-2001. In all cases, my job was to spot the film/mini-series with the clients, make important decisions about
what was to be recorded, process the info through an elaborate custom ADR spotting program, attend all ADR sessions, sit in
the room while the actors performed, give the actors some amount of direction, make sure that we got everything needed in
healthy condition, and deliver the recordings to the ADR editors. This is usually part of the Supervising ADR Editor's
domain ... yet for Echo, I never actually performed the 'editing' of the sound files. As a result, I guess I
was not included as a nominee. That's fine. I enjoyed working with everyone at Echo Sound ... and am happy
to have been part of the Operation Sandman team.

MPSE Golden Reel Nomination: Best Sound
Editing - Direct to Video (Sound Designer) During my employment at Horta Editorial in the
90's, I was frequently asked to design major elements of other editors' shows ... and then hand the sound files to
them to edit into the shows. This was a way to lighten their workload, and to use my sound design skills effectively
without having me spend lots of time editing things like hand pats and swishes (although heaven knows, I did plenty of those
too!). This was the case with 'The Brave Little Toaster Goes To Mars.' Kudos to Tom Syslo who supervised
and edited this project ... his work is always spectacular, his work ethics supreme, and he's truly one of the nicest
people I've had the pleasure to work with.
